It may seem like it, but the Jamestown College basketball teams haven’t been on the road ALL season.
Still, after a first half of the conference schedule that saw the team hop on the bus six times in seven games, it is taking a little time for the Jimmies to get used to their ‘familiar’ surroundings at the Civic Center.
"We’re starting to actually get comfortable in the Civic Center again," JC men’s coach Jeff Trumbauer said. "It feels like we haven’t had this all year long. I’d really have to go back and think about it, did we ever play back to back games or two consecutive weekends in the Civic Center?"
For the record, the Jimmies have played back-to-back games at home twice so far this year: On Nov. 14-15, they had a weekend series with GPAC teams in which JC lost to Dakota Wesleyan and beat Mount Marty. On Nov. 28, they lost to William Penn before beating Trinity Bible College on Dec. 2.
"It’s really nice to have this stretch here," Trumbauer said. "We had a great crowd on Thursday against Valley and that certainly helped the guys. They were excited to play in front of that kind of crowd. We’re excited to be home and hopefully we can make the most of it."
The Jimmies host Dakota State on Friday and Mayville State on Saturday.
