Storm rearranges tournament schedules

Thursday’s winter storm has wreaked havoc on the local schedule for postseason tournaments.
The Class B Region 1 and 3 girls’ basketball tournaments have been postponed.
Region 3 will wrap up on Friday night with the third-place game between Linton and Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock at 6 p.m., followed by the championship game between Kidder County and Litchville-Marion-Montpelier.
Region 1 will wrap up on Friday at the Fargo Civic Center. Fairmount-Campbell-Tintah faces Northern Cass in the third-place game at 6 p.m., followed by the title game between Hankinson and Central Cass.
The Region 4 tournament in Devils Lake is set to play Thursday night as scheduled.
Some area Class B boys’ district tournaments have been rescheduled as well.
The District 5 tournament, set to begin on Friday at the Jamestown Civic Center, remains on schedule. Edgeley-Kulm takes on LaMoure at 4:30 p.m., followed by Litchville-Marion-Montpelier vs. Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal at 6:15 and Ellendale vs. Barnes County North at 8.
The District 6 tournament in Napoleon has been pushed back a day and will run Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. Two first-round games will be played on Saturday, with South Border vs. Napoleon at 6 p.m., followed by Kidder County vs. Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock.
The District 1 tournament remains on schedule. A play-in game is set for Friday night, with the first round on Saturday at NDSCS.
The District 2 tournament at the Fargo Civic Center has been pushed back a day and will run Saturday, Monday and Tuesday.
District 7 in Devils Lake will tip off with four first-round games on Saturday as scheduled.
In addition, the East Region girls’ basketball play-in game between Valley City and Wahpeton will be played on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Wahpeton.
