The North Dakota State Bison men’s basketball team got a lot of attention ’round these parts for their run to the NCAA tournament, and deservedly so.
Another Dakota-based Summit League school has quietly had an even better season.
The South Dakota State women are taking on Baylor tonight in the second round of the NCAA women’s tournament. The Jackrabbits went 31-2 during the regular season, won the Summit League and got a lower-than-they-deserved No. 7 seed for the tournament.
SDSU has been ranked in the top 25 for much of the season, and they’ve beaten a bunch of schools from bigger conferences, like the Big 10.
One of the Jacks’ losses came at the hands of Maryland. The Terps (29-4) are a No. 1 seed and can reach the Sweet 16 with a win tonight as well.
