Jimmies split with Dakota State

The Jamestown College baseball team finished their four-game road trip to Dakota State with a split on Thursday.

The Jimmies won the opening game 10-7 before the Trojans took the nightcap 8-2 behind South Dakota State transfer Jerad Donahue.

Kyle Montomgery hit a three-run home run in Game 1 to give the Jimmies and 8-5 lead in the top of the fifth. Jeremy Newman and Jordan Dusanj had two hits each.

Alex Kreis went the first five for the win and Ryan Lucero the last four for the save.

Donahue struck out 10 batters in the second game to hold JC 10 runs average their average.

Tim Penner homered and Cam McLachlan and Bryan Renfrow had two hits.

The Jimmies (6-3 DAC, 17-5 overall) take on Mayville State this weekend.
