Fresno Pacific beat top-seeded Bellevue for the second straight time, claiming the title in the NAIA national baeball tournament’s opening round Sioux City bracket.
The Sunbirds defeated the Bruins 10-1 in the title game on Friday, earning a berth in the NAIA World Series on May 22-29 in Lewiston, Idaho.
Tyler Pryor went 4-for-5 with a double and drove in five runs for Fresno Pacific. Three other Sunbirds had three hits, and the top three batters in the Fresno order combined to go 10-for-16.
Fresno Pacific struck early, scoring four runs in the second and leading 7-0 after three innings.
