LaMoure sweeps Linton

Linton swept a sectional American Legion baseball doubleheader from Linton on Tuesday night.
Gaige Dunn struck out 17 batters in picking up the win in the opening game, a 6-1 victory. He hit a homer and drove in two runs in the late game, a 9-8 win.
Dunn walked five and allowed four hits in the first game, taking a shutout into the seventh inning. Ben Holen went 2-for-3 with two RBI, Ben Watkins was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored and Cole Gentzkow was 2-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI. Dunn and Chad Limesand drove in runs and Aaron Stemen scored twice.
Jaime Sathren drove in Linton’s run. Sathren, Brady Weber, Kelsey Larson and Jon Pavlicek had hits in the loss.
LaMoure scored in each of the first five innings to offset a six-run third for Linton in the late game.
Stemen struck out 10 to get the win. Brett Hample went 4-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. Stemen was 1-for-3 and scored two runs. Dunn was 1-for-4 with a homer, two RBI and two runs. Olson was 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
Larson had two hits, including a double, two runs and two RBI for Linton. Brady Weber doubled and scored two runs, Pavlicek had two hits, including a double, scored a run and drove in three and Colin Hulm had a single and scored a run.
LaMoure improved to 18-8 overall, 9-1 in the section.
