Elks beat Tigers

The Jamestown Elks continued their sparkling season with a 5-2 win over the Jamestown Tarno Tigers on Tuesday night at Jack Brown Stadium.
James Castle went the first five on the mound for the 29-3 Elks before Ryan Iliff fired four scoreless frames, striking out six Tarno batters in the process to earn the save.
The Tarnos led 2-0 early, getting two in the bottom of the first.
The Elks answered with four in the top of the third and finished the scoring with a single run in the fifth.
Joe Peldo, Dave Sauter and Boya Quichocho each went 2 for 4 for the Elks, who outhit the Tarnos 9-7.
The Elks are back in action tonight in Fargo League play against Moorhead Expos.
The Great Plains League tournament will be held Saturday at Jack Brown Stadium. The Elks face the Valley City Saints at 11 a.m. in the first game of the day. Mayville takes on the Jamestown Miller Lite Merchants at 1:30 p.m. with the winners to meet in the championship game at 4.
