The state soccer tournament will not be played in Jamestown.
Continued wet weather and poor field conditions forced the tournament to be moved to Fargo Shanley High School. The tournament will be played on Friday and Saturday.
With Hillcrest Soccer Complex still covered in snow, and more precipitation headed this way, moving the tournament became the most viable option.
"It’s definitely not an easy decision to make," he said. "I spent a lot of time talking to a lot of different individuals and getting a lot of feedback. Ultimately, you try to make the best decision you can for those involved. In this circumstance, that meant moving the tournament elsewhere."
It’s the second straight state tournament that has been forced out of Jamestown.
The Class A state boys’ golf meet was supposed to be played at the Jamestown Country Club last June, but heavy winter snow and a wet spring submerged a handful of holes, forcing the tournament to be moved to Dakota Winds Golf Course near Hankinson.
