JC women add two Minnesota recruits

The Jamestown College women’s basketball program has added a pair of Minnesota recruits.
Jennifer Knake and Kayla Purrington have signed Dakota Athletic Conference letters of intent to play basketball for the Jimmies.
Knake is a 6-foot post player for Willmar Senior High.
“Jen is going to make an impact at Jamestown College as a student and as a basketball player,” Jimmies coach Mark Wiest said. “She has a tremendous attitude, is an extremely hard worker and is the type of person you want to have in your program. She has an attitude that is so positive and a work ethic the will continue to help her improve.”
The daughter of Mark and Lori Knake of New London, Minn., she is undecided on a major.
Purrington, a 5-2 guard, was a part of back-to-back state championship teams at Ada-Borup in 2008 and 2009.
“We are excited to have Kayla as a part of Jamestown College and our women’s basketball program,” Wiest said. “She has been part of a great tradition of basketball at Ada-Borup and has played a role in helping them win back to back state championships. I like her versatility on the court as she can do a little bit of everything. She is the ultimate team player who does the little things that teams need to be successful.”
The daughter of Stewart and Connie Purrington of Twin Valley, Minn., she plans to major in radiologic technology at Jamestown College.
