Jays sweep back

The Jamestown High School basketball teams bounced back with a sweep on Saturday night at home.

The Blue Jay girls won a tight one over the Grand Forks Central Knights, who won 15 games last season and return much of that team, including all-stater Caitlin Farroh.

Melissa McMillan led the Jays with 17 points. Kara Nygaard added 14 for Jamestown, which trailed 31-20 late in the first half.

The JHS boys blew out the Knights. They were down 11-10 early, but closed the second half on a 24-5 run.

Andrew Peterson’s 21 points led everybody. Brian Sinner added 10 as 11 blue-clads scored in all.

The Blue Jays are at Minot Friday and Turtle Mountain next Saturday afternoon for their first road trip of the season.
