Wednesday’s are usually slow in this business, but not tonight.
Here’s the rundown for the 2nd to last day of 2009, which truth be told was not a good year on many fronts – at least not in my world.
The JC women, ranked fifth in the NAIA, routed Dakota Wesleyan, a poor team. The Jimmies scored 22 straight points early and proceeded to took the Tigers behind the woodshed.
The Jimmie men also played Dakota Wesleyan, but the No. 14 Tiger men won that one, with a serious assist to the men in stripes.
I don’t complain about referring and neither does JC head man Jeff Trumbauer, but Dakota Wesleyan shot 26 free throws and the Jimmies 4 – as is 1 more than 3, and 1 less than 5. Come on Man, that’s just not right.
The Jimmies open DAC play Jan. 8 against South Dakota Mines at the Civic Center.
For the Blue Jays, Landon Ostlie placed second at the Mandan Pentathlon, which featured only five events. That’s enough about that.
No paper on Jan. 1, so we will not be in until Jan. 1 when the Sav holds down the fort solo.
In the meantime, we really need wins from Minnesota, Northwestern, Penn State and Ohio State the next 2 days in bowl games.
Until next time, Happy New Year to all you blog readers. We appreciate your patronage.
