Achter into the JC baseball fold

Fargo South standout athlete Matt Achter will be coming to Jamestown College next season to play baseball for the Jimmies.

Achter, who carries a 3.87 GPA, has been an outfielder for the Bruins high school team and for the Fargo Post 2 American Legion club. As a junior he earned all-state and all-region honors for the Bruins. Last summer, he hit .392 for Post 2 with 62 hits and 40 RBIs.

He’s also been a key cog on the South football team, earning all-East Region honors and second team all-state recognition this past season.

“We believe that Matt has the potential to be a very good college baseball player,” said JC head coach Tom Hager. “He is a very talented student-athlete and we are excited that he has chosen to wear the Jimmie baseball uniform.”
He is the son of Jon and Janna Achter.
