Whitney Carlson continues to set the Summit League on fire.
The Bchanan native has been named the conference’s athlete of the week for the third time already this season, the most of any track and field athlete in the Summit League.
Carlson’s latest huge meet came at the Bison Open at the BSA where she set school records in the pentathlon (3,810 points) and the long jump (20-4 1/2).
Her score in the pentathlon is the 17th-best in Division I this season and her top long jump has her 20th in the country in that event.
She also leads the Summit League in the 200 and 60 meter hurdles this season.
Carlson will have home-field advantage at the Summit League conference meet Feb. 28 and March 1 at the BSA.
