Three Dakota Athletic Conference teams are ranked inside the top 15 in the final NAIA women’s top 25 poll.
Black Hills State (23-5) is ranked No. 4 after winning the DAC regular season title with a 12-2 record. The Jimmies, who finished second at 11-3 and are 22-6 overall are ranked 10th.
Both are essentially locks for at-large bids for the national tournament if neither team were to win the DAC postseason tournament, which begins Wednesday.
The national tournament is set for March 10-16 in Sioux City, Iowa.
Minot State (21-7) dropped two spots to No. 15 in the final poll, but still should be OK for an at-large bid when the entire national tournament field is announced on March 3.
The DAC tournament begins on Wednesday.
The Jimmies host a doubleheader against different teams. The women host seventh-seeded Dakota State at 5:30 p.m., while the JC men will try to beat Minot State for the fourth time this season in the nightcap.
