EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings will open the regular season at New Orleans on Thursday, Sept. 9 in a rematch of the NFC title game.
It’s one of four prime time games on the schedule for the Vikings. Their home opener is on Sept. 19 against the Miami Dolphins.
Other games of interest include the yearly trip to Green Bay on Oct. 24, a trip to play Favre’s other former team, the New York Jets, on Monday, Oct. 11 and the Packers’trip to the Metrodome on Nov. 21.
Their bye comes early in the season, in Week 4, followed by a tough four-game run against the Jets, Cowboys, Packers and Patriots.
The Vikings, of course, are still waiting to see if Favre will be playing for them this season. He has yet to say whether he will return for a 20th NFL season.
