JC basketball looses top recruit

Jordan Riewer of Staples-Motley (Minn.) has reneged on his commitment to Jamestown College and has signed with D-II Minnesota State Moorhead.

Riewer averaged 16.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game his senior year at Staples-Motley. The 6-1, 165-pound Riewer is the all-time leading scorer at Staples-Motley with 1,958 career points.

Riewer signed with the Jimmies prior to Jeff Trumbauer resigning as coach of the Jimmies in early June.

Riewer reopened his recruitment and was one of three late additions for new MSUM coach Chad Walthall.

New JC head coach Matt Murken appears to have kept the balance of Trumbauer’s last recruiting class together.

It is not my fault …

if we don’t have the MLB All-Star game in Wednesday’s print edition of The Sun.

The clowns at MLB and FOX have this game starting around 8 p.m. CDT, which is just unacceptable. The game is virtually meaningless, and they’re pimping it like it’s on par with the advances in the genome – IT IS NOT.

The AL is going to win, then win the World Series.

Just start the game, handsome Selig.

It’s probably Joe Buck’s fault. Anything his mouth and hair are involved in is bound to be a debacle.

I sound like my wife and kids. Nothing is ever their fault.

Jefferson gone

Reports have the Wolves unloading Al Jefferson for two future 1st-round picks, a salary cap excemption and a song to the Jazz.

It better be a good song, because one of the picks is a protected pick via Memphis and the other one is from Utah, which will be good for years, meaning the pick will likely be in the 20s somewhere.

The Wolves are also going to sign Luke Ridnour.

I’m fine with dumping Jefferson, but for basically nothing? Kahn said something about a plan? If this is a plan, I sure would not like to know what chaos is.
