Jimmies blast RMU; They’re moving on

Tim Penner hit a grand slam and drove in seven runs and Ryan Iliff went eight innings on the mound as Jamestown College routed Robert Morris (Ill.) 13-5 in the first game of the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round at Joliet, Ill.
The Jimmies trailed 2-1 early on, but a 4-run third inning followed by five runs in the fourth blew it open and they led big the rest of the way in the 3-hour and xx-minute game.
Griffin Sweazey hit a solo home run for the game’s first run in the top of the first.
But Penner took over from there.
He banged a 2-run double off the left field fence in the top of the fourth. Then in the fifth, with the bases loaded, he unloaded for a grand slam to give the Jimmies a 10-2 lead.
